How high-performance camshafts are made at Schrick

Schrick places the greatest emphasis on absolute quality, high performance and precision. For this reason, all camshafts are designed, developed and produced using special software and with the same modern CNC machines, whether for professional motorsport or the tuning range. Our dedication to engine design is clear to see in each individual part, as each one undergoes an elaborate quality inspection.

Why do you need the right camshaft for professional tuning?

The camshaft is a crucial component of the valve train. It opens the intake and exhaust valves according to the specified timing and is driven by a timing belt or chain. It directly impacts the gas exchange (replacement of combusted mixture with fresh gas) and thus also the engine’s behaviour. By fitting an “aggressive” sport camshaft, your valves will open for longer, meaning fuller cylinders and way more power! For road use, it is also important to make sure you maintain a stable idling speed and high-quality exhaust gases. Choosing the right camshaft thus plays a key role in professional engine tuning.

New hydraulic tappets for the camshaft

Schrick only offers a warranty on the camshaft if you also install new hydraulic tappets. This makes sense anyway if you want to get even more power out of your engine. After all, Schrick’s hydraulic tappets are extremely lightweight and thus boost the valve train tremendously. Which means your engine revs a whole lot faster!
