What makes Carrillo con-rods premium con-rods?

The Carrillo premium con-rods are produced with absolute precision. They are more lightweight than traditional con-rods, allowing for even higher speeds. They have a considerably higher stability, tensile strength and elastic limit. Carrillo con-rods are milled to perfection from a solid piece of special heat-treated steel. Subsequently, the con-rods are balanced and shot peened. Thanks to the high-quality material and precision workmanship, they are also especially durable. The kits always contain a special mounting lubricant.

Con-rods in engine tuning

A connecting rod, in short: con-rod, is the connection between the crankshaft and the piston in a combustion engine. According to the piston principle, the con-rod translates the linear movement of the piston into the circular movement of the crankshaft. In performance-enhanced engines, the forces acting on the con-rod and piston are so high that we recommend the conversion to H-beam con-rods at the latest as of a power limit of 300 hp. If a standard con-rod tears off, the damage to the engine can be severe.
